Cleaning & Care

Bedding Care

Keeping your bedding cared for will ensure that it looks great for years to come. We recommend the following steps for cleaning your sleepy pup bedding.

  • Remove mattress or other stuffing from the bedding.
  • If there are stains, spot treat each stain
  • Wash bedding in cold water with like colors and mild laundry detergent. Do not use bleach.
  • Air dry or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting
  • If you wish to iron or press out wrinkles, do so using a low temperature setting.

Water and Food Bowl Care

Our travel bowls are designed to stand up to hard use on the road or on the trail. If you would like to clean your bowls, please use the following instructions.

  • If you wish to use a detergent, only use chemicals/detergents recommended for use with flexible vinyl fabrics. CAUTION: If wrong detergents are used, or used incorrectly, the following may occur: shrinkage, polyester fiber damage and delamination of the waterproof lining. Do not use bleach.
  • Wash in cold or warm temperatures.
  • Air dry or tumble dry on the lowest heat setting. Dryer heat should not exceed 180°F / 80°C or the waterproof lining may melt.

Leather Collar Care

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water or submersion, especially salt water. If leather gets too wet, air dry it slowly. If immersed in salt water, thoroughly wash with non-salt water first. Feel free to apply a water-resistant finish if you anticipate frequent water exposure.
  • If leather gets too dry, rub a light leather dressing or cream made from reasonably natural ingredients that doesn't have coloring in it. We recommend neatsfoot oil
  • Cleaning: use a damp cloth. You should not need to use soap or other cleaners.
  • Leather stretches out, especially when wet. Avoid prolonged tugging sessions.
  • Leather needs to breathe, so make sure you don't throw it in the bottom of a bin under a bunch of other things, especially when wet. This is to prevent mildew growth.
