We here at sleepy pup are big friends of nature. We love walking the beaches of the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean near our shop in Virginia Beach and enjoy camping in the nearby state parks and national forests of Virginia and North Carolina. As the years go by, we recognize more and more that it’s up to us to make changes in industry to help make the world a better place. We’re proud to have recently eliminated plastic packaging in all of our dog collars and dog leash products that we ship to our wonderful dog owners. We’re working hard to eliminate as much single use plastic in the small remainder of our product packaging, and to use sustainable, responsibly made materials in both our products and packaging.
Along with eliminating plastic, we strive to practice environmentally friendly habits in how we run our business. Every collar, leash, belt and other leather products we make are made by hand – we have no power tools or heavy electricity usage. We use (and re-use) paper as our packaging filler instead of plastic air bags or peanuts.
Eliminating this plastic in our packaging will be keeping tens of thousands of plastic bags out of the trash each year. Every little bit helps, and we will continue to work to make our company friendlier to the only home we have.
